YOGA ON THE FARM
The Shambhala culture is based on Grow, Nourish and Connect. We believe that there is an important connection between growing healthy food, nourishing our body and connecting to the Earth. A big part of this focus is our passion for yoga. We are excited to be able to offer yoga on the farm in our beautiful Yoga Shala.
The Yoga Shala on Shambhala Farm is a creation of love that came to life in March of 2017 when Craig and Chrissy met in Bali during a Yoga Teacher Training. The word Shala is Sanskrit for home. It had always been a dream to bring yoga to the farm and incorporate movement with growing organic, nourishing food. It made for a beautiful match when Chrissy, a full-time yoga teacher who loves all things body movement, brought her passion and knowledge to the Farm.
The Shala is a large and airy covered space set in the heart of the Farm that is now home to regular yoga classes, workshops and women’s circles and it all began with a beautiful Mini Retreat in May of 2017. The Mini Retreat was a day long immersion of yoga, a farm experience, delicious green smoothies and lunch and finishing with a bonfire. Our Shala has a lush and open Bali feel with the sounds of nature as the beautiful soundtrack. When you are inside the Shala, you are surrounded by the fields of organic veggies, the spring-fed dam which is home to many birds and trees that sing in the wind.
This space was created to inspire and is open to anyone that has a curiosity about yoga, meditation or simply wants a place to connect back to the Earth. Anyone is invited to visit the Shala at one of the weekly yoga classes, a workshop or mini-retreat. We welcome you to experience the heart space of the farm in our Yoga Shala the next time you’re on the Sunshine Coast.
